Hall of Famer Chief Bender is pictured on this “Striped Cap” variation from the 1909 Croft’s Candy (E92) collection. Valued at almost twice that of the relatively more common “White Cap” pose, this hobby-gem rests in a 40 VG holder from SGC, ensuring its authenticity and unaltered state. While the bottom left corner does hurt the grade, the vintage candy card is otherwise beautiful, exhibiting smooth edges, a milky white appearance and three very attractive corners. Only topped by Cy Young, Honus Wagner and Christy Mathewson, this Chief Bender is amongst the toughest finds in the Croft’s Candy collection.
