As one of the most influential figures in baseball history, Harry Wright steered the game from a local interest to the national spotlight as the manager of the famous 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings. Wright organized his team and was the first to pay players for their services. Henry Chadwick went so far as to call Wright the “father of baseball”. This example of the very popular 1887 Old Judge N172 Harry Wright shows the great man as the manager of the Philadelphia club and has been graded authentic by SGC. The card is quite clean and crease free but has been slightly altered at the corners.
