Offered is a very sharp 1887 Buchner Gold Coin Chewing Tobacco card of Hall of Famer Roger Connor. It is widely accepted that Connor was the game’s best power hitter until a bar keeper’s son from Baltimore began belting balls out of ball yards. The card features a drawn image of this 19th Century slugger in a fielding position with his hands cupped. The back of the card displays mild toning consistent with the card position against the acidic tobacco. This 120-year-old card has been deemed a SGC 70 EX+ 5.5 by the trusted third party grading service. According to the latest combined SGC and PSA population reports, this card has one SGC equal and none better.
