Graded 40 VG 3 by SGC. This 1887 N172 Old Judge Ed Delahanty card is a rookie example for the Hall of Famer whose life and career were abbreviated as he plunged to his death over Niagara Falls during the 1903 season. One of only eight known Delahanty poses in the famous set, this (Bat on right shoulder, "2d B., Phila") example is one of few known Delahanty collectibles from his lifetime. The sepia tones remain prominent, while an askew factory cut, fuzzy registration and centering are among the factors responsible for the technical grade.
