Encapsulated and graded 5 by PSA, this ticket stub admitted its bearer to Pittsburgh's Forbes Field for Game 1 of the 1927 World Series. A sacrificial lamb for what many consider to be the greatest team of all-time, the host team actually out-hit the Bronx Bombers 9-6 that afternoon, but were felled 5-4 as Ruth and Gehrig combined for four hits, a triple, a walk, three runs and two RBI. Measuring 2-1/4 x 4-5/9", this lavender hued voucher bears a hefty “$5.50” asking price and features printed seating and event legends, as well as the facsimile signature of Bucs President Barney Dreyfus. Crease-free with sharp edges and corners, the item presents nicer than the technical grade suggests.
