Baseball historians will always debate and differ on which is the grand old game’s greatest team, but one thing is for certain - the 1927 New York Yankees are always in the discussion. Loaded with Hall of Famers and stars, the 1927 Bronx Bombers boasted five starters that hit better than .308 and three 18-Game winners; Ruth and Gehrig combined for 107 homeruns, and there were seven members of Cooperstown. This line-up is featured in the offered three autographed album pages. Each of the (3) album pages has been authenticated by BGS/JSA and contain only the signatures of the 1927 NY Yankees with (21) in total. The three sheets are as follows: White Sheet: (9) signatures in pencil with the exception of Ruth (signed in steel-tip fountain ink) with Combs, Bengough, Paschal, Lou Gehrig (“8-9”), Meusel, Babe Ruth (“9”), Joe Giard (c.1956, “8-9”), Urban Shocker (d.1928, “8”), Koenig; Pink Sheet: (7) signatures in pencil with Shawkey, Collins, Fletcher, Gazella, Morehart, Pipgras and Lazzeri (“6-7”); Blue Sheet: (5) signatures in black fountain pen with Hoyt, Moore, Dugan, Ruether and Grabowski (d.1946, “9”). With (21) total signatures, (20) of which were players and one coach (Fletcher), the offered collection is one of the most extensive groupings offered and includes two of the TOUGHEST signatures from the 1927 New York Yankees in Giard and Shocker plus the monumental scripts of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Also included with the lot of three Beckett slabbed album pages is a copy of the original JSA auction house letter.
