Graded 40 VG 3 by SGC. In eternal infamy for his gaffe in the 1912 World Series, New York Giants outfielder Fred Snodgrass was the subject of a separate "error" prior to his monumental October blunder. Specifically, his 1910 T206 card had a sparse number of examples on which his surname was spelled "NODGRASS." Offered is one such specimen. Among those with the "Piedmont" reverse, this is the lone example at its tier with only one better. This version exhibits prominent colors with corner wear consistent with the technical grade.
