Former coach George Myatt wore this Philadelphia Phillies home jersey during the infamous 1964 campaign. This button-down flannel holds further appeal in that it bears the number "1," which has since been retired by the Phillies to honor Richie Ashburn. “Phillies” embroidered in red cursive across the chest is sewn in red-and-white twill. The tapered left front tail is home to a vintage "Wilson" tagging. Moderate wear is evident along with the stitched ”1964” on the right front tail. The interior collar features Myatt’s name stitched on a white felt tag. Additional details on our website. In the club's traditional font, "Phillies" is arched across the chest in red-and-white embroidered twill. On the back, Myatt's number "1" is sewn in like fashion, while a felt strip tag on the interior collar has "Myatt" embroidered in black cursive. On the tapered left front tail, a "Wilson" label is accompanied by tags that respectively denote "'1964" and size "44." There are four holes (as tailored) under each arm to facilitate ventilation. After a less than stellar career in the majors, Myatt honed his craft and became a better than average coach, serving the White Sox, Cubs, Braves and Tigers before beginning his tenure with the Phillies in 1964 – a season that still haunts Phillies fans to this day. .NOTE: Huggins and Scott is allowing the winning bidder 30 days from the date when payment is received to have the item independently authenticated.
