Presented is the original artwork for one of the key pieces in the most popular Hall of Fame Postcard set ever produced. The artwork is that of Dick Perez, and the subject is Hall of Famer Richie Ashburn. The 16x24 watercolor rendering of the “Tilden Flash” is one of the most beautiful in the Perez-Steele Hall of Fame Postcard series. This art was completed in 1995 in time for Ashburn's induction and the postcard series was issued the following year, leaving precious little time for Ashburn to sign many of the cards, making the postcard one of the most desirable in the set. This masterpiece hung in the Hall of Fame for most of 1995 as part of the 1995 Induction Class exhibit. The artwork is as desirable because it is a one-of-a-kind piece by the renowned art Dick Perez, who signed his work in the lower right corner.
