Among the game’s first real gate attractions, Hall of Famer Rube Waddell dabbled, as well, in alligator wrestling, football, rugby, and allegedly “lost count” of how many women he married. Pictured at the onset of his incredible six-year run of pacing the American League in strikeouts, Waddell is the enigmatic subject of this scarce and coveted 1903 E107 Type 1 cardboard treasure. Encapsulated and Graded FR 1.5 by PSA, this is the lone specimen at its tier with only two graded higher by the respected service. Pinpoint centering frames the southpaw’s black-and-white likeness. Rounded left-side corners and mounting remnants/paper loss on the reverse account for the technical assessment.
