Attention "stub" collectors! Here's a toughie on virtually all wantlists. As Fall Classic keepsakes go, the offered ticket stub is a scarce survivor from the event’s most unusual installment. This ticket stub was issued at Cincinnati’s Redland Field from Game 2 of the tainted 1919 World Series. Encapsulated and assessed “Authentic” by PSA, this voucher was issued to one of 29,698 Queen City patrons to view a 4-2 Reds triumph. Keeping his promise to “throw” the series, White Sox starter Claude “Lefty” Williams no-hit the Reds through three, facing the minimum nine batters. But in the fourth, he issued three walks, all of which came around to score and seal the visitors’ losing fate. Printed locally, the historically significant artifact has printed seating/event details and an uneven admission tear.
