Acclaimed for his durable style and defensive prowess, former third baseman Don Wert was selected to his first and only All-Star Game in 1968. This Adirondack “153B” (35.6/34-1/2”) block-letter model bat was issued to Wert for that first-ever indoor installment of the Mid-Summer Classic. The uncracked white ash weapon features the correct “Tee Pee” center brand from the labeling period, as well as proper player and event barrel stamping identifiers. Proving he deserved to be there, Wert collected one of only three hits for the Junior Circuit squad that night, an eighth-inning double off Tom Seaver.
