Reliable utility infielder, Bill Hallman, is depicted during the first of his fourteen major league seasons on this challenging 1888 N173 Old Judge Cabinet. Graded VG 3 by PSA, this (dark uniform, throwing right) pose is currently uncatalogued and is the only specimen judged by the service. The Philadelphia Quaker is portrayed heaving the ball against a pastoral setting. The clear image is framed by relatively crisp corners and edges. Despite incidental discoloration to the blank reverse, this 124 year-old premium still appears “none the worse for wear”. Perfect for the N specialist seeking a quality sample from this set.
