Idle for more than three full years after his successful Heavyweight Title defense in 1916, Jess Willard proved no match for Jack Dempsey in their July 4, 1919 championship bout. In arguably the worst beating in Sweet Science annals, Dempsey floored the champion seven times in the first round alone and took his title when Willard could not answer the bell for Round 4. Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA, this full ticket was issued by the Toledo Athletic club for admission to that infamous battle. Gorgeous colors and strong perforations appeal on this pugilism prize.
