Having secured back-to-back pennants for the first and only time in franchise annals, the 1925 Washington Senators appeared primed to win successive World Series titles, as well, racing to a three games-to-one lead before succumbing to the Pittsburgh Pirates. As they took the upper hand, the host Senators staved off a Pirates rally in the ninth inning of Game 3 as Firpo Marberry induced Clyde Barnhart to pop out with the bases loaded and one out, and proceeded to retire Hall of Famer Pie Traynor on a game-ending fly ball. Encapsulated and Graded Good 2 by PSA, this ticket stub was issued at Washington’s Griffith Stadium for that Game 3 showdown. This well-kept specimen in one of five graded examples with only one graded higher. The “Center Field Pavilion” voucher features printed seating/event details, as well as the facsimile signature of Senators President Clark Griffith. The crease-free October relic presents beautifully, though a minor instance of paper loss on the reverse (possibly from previous mounting) accounts for the technical assessment.
