Despite not yet having played a single inning in the big leagues, Roger Maris was billed as packing “Power and Speed” on page 3 of the Cleveland Indians 1957 opening day program. The 22-year North Dakota product did not disappoint, going 3-for-5 that day against White Sox starter Billy Pierce. Encapsulated and Graded EX 5 by PSA, this Cleveland Stadium ticket stub is the lone example at its tier with none graded higher. Issued for that auspicious Maris debut, the colorful voucher presents even nicer than the technical grade suggests. Accompanying is a 16-page program from that April 16 season opener. With covers/pages intact, the guide presents nicely with scoring grids marked in pencil to document the 11-inning showdown.
