Graded 50 VG-EX 4 by SGC. Phenomenal 1888 unreleased Old Judge image of Henry Larkin manufactured by Gilbert & Bacon of Philadelphia. The Athletics Captain is depicted sliding into a base with his right arm aloft. The sepia image is clear with a reverse wrinkle which does not protrude the obverse accounting for the opined technical grade. A faint stamped impression along the lower left portion of the antiquity reads "Copyrighted 1888 Goodwin & Co. N.Y." The only such copy judged by the third-party service. More on our website. Although the holder flip reads C. 1890's Cabinet, research dates the 4-1/4 x 6-1/2" piece to 1888.
