With 373 career victories to his historic ledger, Christy Mathewson deals another gem on his 1909 E102 Anonymous cornerstone. Judged EX-MT 6 by PSA, the horizontal illustration depicts the Class of 1936 inductee following through his steady pitching motion against a radiant tri-color dusk backdrop. It is difficult to fathom how this razor-sharp heirloom has withstood the century in such premier condition! Well constructed corners and edges, accurate centering and alluring surface hues are all attributes of this ACC designated "candy" card. The checklist reverse which was particularly susceptible to reverse notations is absent of any writing. A "stand alone" card which survives as 1 of 6 at the grading level with only two better. For the entire designation this "Big Six" comes up aces as it meets or exceeds 92% of the other specimens judged from the set.
