Issued in Queens at the height of the Beatles’ popularity, this August 15, 1965 Shea Stadium stub was undoubtedly the hottest ticket in town. Encapsulated and assessed “Authentic” by PSA, this “Field Box” voucher is one of only seven graded and hails from the first stop on the Fab Four’s tour, an engagement that set both attendance and revenue records. The performance was limited to 30 minutes and, by all accounts, could not be heard over the crowd noise. Such setbacks mattered not to the bearer of this ticket, which features an image of the musicians clad in sport coats and ties. Sharp edges/corners and a clean reverse combine to render this rock-n-roll keepsake nicer than the technical evaluation suggests.
