While this 1969 New York Mets stub meets that criteria, it also falls into a theatric category as a voucher for the culmination of a captivating drama/thriller. With Shea Stadium the stage on Wednesday, September 24, 1969, the hosts tallied five times in the bottom of the first to send the raucous crowd of 54,928 into a two-hour frenzy. In the end, the Mets posted a 6-0 triumph for their 25th of 28 shutouts and first of four straight blankings.
