Dashing 1880s J. Wood Studio Joe Crotty portrait. Judged 10 Poor 1 by SGC due to a combination of expected perimeter wear and period writing, the ornate gilt framing proudly depicts the light-hitting backstop during his brief tenure in the professional game. The clear image of the mustachioed ballplayer is crease-free while the blank reverse displays expected age-induced discoloration. A fine nineteenth century artifact from the prolific New York studio.
