Pinstripes have been a recurring October theme, as the Yankees have participated in no fewer than 40 World Series showdowns. Powered by Babe Ruth in the club’s first four Fall Classic conquests, the Bronx Bombers unveiled a new cast and captured an unprecedented four straight titles from 1936 through 1939. As the Yanks clinched the first of those championships in 1936, Jake Powell (a Maryland-born slugger not quite as productive as Ruth) homered and drove in four to lead the Yankees to a 13-5 triumph at the Polo Grounds. Encapsulated and Graded VG 3 by PSA, this ticket stub was issued at the spacious Manhattan venue for that Game 6 clincher in which the visitors scored seven times in the top of the ninth to bust it wide open. One of three examples at its tier with only three graded higher, this “Lower Stand” voucher features printed seating/event details and the facsimile signature of Giants president Horace Stoneham. The crease-free memento presents even nicer than its technical assessment suggests.
