For the 14th and final stop on their 1966 North American tour, the Beatles drew just over half the capacity at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park. Preceded by John Lennon’s claim that “We’re more popular than Jesus now” in a March, 1966 interview with the London Evening Standard, the tour was controversial in the public eye and, privately, the Beatles’ last-ever. Encapsulated and Graded GOOD 2 (Reattach) by PSA, this full ticket was issued on that chilly San Francisco night as, unbeknownst to all but the performers, the “Fab Four” gave their last scheduled live concert. Issued by Tempo Productions and San Francisco’s KYA Radio, the crisp voucher features head shots of the handsome entertainers, along with printed seating and event details. This rare pop culture survivor presents much nicer that the technical assessment suggests. Faint remnants from a photo album remain on the reverse. As for the “Reattach” qualifier, the perforation appears sturdy and unbroken, thus any “reattachment” is undetectable.
