Vying to end the infamous “curse” that had kept them out of the postseason for 27 years, the 1946 Boston Red Sox appeared primed to emerge as champions. With a two games-to-one advantage to start Game 4, BoSox pitcher Tex Hughson enjoyed an auspicious first inning, retiring Red Schoendienst, Terry Moore and Stan Musial in order. But from there, all hell broke loose as the Redbirds battered Beantown hurlers for a World Series record 20 hits, including four apiece from Enos Slaughter, Whitey Kurowski and Joe Garagiola. Encapsulated and Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA, this ticket stub was issued at Fenway Park for that Game 4 offensive clinic. The crisp and colorful “BLEACHER” voucher features printed seating/event details and the facsimile signature of Red Sox owner Thomas Yawkey. One of three at its tier with only two graded higher, this is a rare survivor and welcome addition to any Cardinals, Red Sox or World Series collection.
