With the Yankees’ reign of dominance in the rearview mirror, back-to-back runs of three straight American League pennants were authored by Baltimore (1969-1971) and Oakland (1972-1974). The latter team, of course, became the only club aside from the Bronx Bombers to win at least three successive World Series titles. In the culmination of that “Mustache Gang” era, Charlie Finley’s well-oiled machine disposed of the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games as Hall of Famer Rollie Fingers won the opener and saved Games 4 and 5. Encapsulated and Graded NM 7 by PSA, this full ticket was issued at Dodger Stadium for the opener of that one-sided showdown, a game in which the A’s prevailed, 3-2, despite being out-hit, 11-6. The crisp and colorful “Reserved Green Level” voucher features printed seating/event details, as well as an avant-garde “baseball” logo and a Dodgers team logo. One of four at its lofty plateau with only seven graded higher, this Chavez Ravine keepsake summons memories of Reggie, Catfish and a meddling owner who knew no limits.
