As the chief talent of the three professional baseball playing brothers of San Francisco, Joe DiMaggio unleashes a wicked swing on this captivating 1933-36 Zeenut Pacific Coast League Batting (without coupon) pose. Several years before the 56 game hitting streak, Marilyn Monroe and the intense limelight of New York City, DiMaggio toiled in relative obscurity for the San Francisco Seals as the misspelling of his surname suggests. This important minor league sample of “The Yankee Clipper” is judged 10 Poor 1 by SGC due to even and neat removal from a period album. Despite the residue, the crisp black-and-white obverse presents (VG) with mild creasing relegated to the lower portion of the cardboard. Aside from insignificant peripheral chipping, the perfectly contrasted central image is remarkably clear and worthy of prominent placement in any Hall of Fame rookie card gathering. One of only seven samples confirmed by the third-party grading service. Note: All proceeds will be donated to PALS: People Assisting the Lodi Shelter--a non-profit animal rescue.
