As pitching feats go, Bob Gibson’s World Series dominance is, with little argument, the most incredible in October annals. While many are quick to cite the scoreless skeins authored by Babe Ruth and Orel Hershiser, as well as the 1956 gem turned in by Don Larsen, Gibson’s heroics were far and away more impressive. Beginning in the 1964 Fall Classic, Gibson turned in seven straight complete game victories! Near the end of that run, he set a World Series mark with 17 strikeouts in a 4-0 shutout of Detroit. Encapsulated and Graded EX 5 by PSA, this ticket stub was issued at Busch Stadium as Gibson established that “K” standard in the opener of the 1968 World Series. One of two at its tier with only three graded higher, this historically significant voucher features printed seating/event details and a likeness of the (then) new St. Louis venue. On the reverse, printed legal text is accompanied by the facsimile signature of Commissioner William Eckert.
