Graded 55 VG-EX+ 4.5 by SGC and confirmed as pose 11-1. Inspiring 1887 N172 Old Judge Cigarettes portrait featuring nineteenth century Hall of Famer, Adrian Constantine (Cap) Anson. The crease-free image of the White Stockings stalwart is framed by four moderately worn corners and barely touched edges. The sepia portrait confirming the acclaimed subject is properly centered and has withstood the century with remarkable clarity. Aside from age-induced toning, the blank reverse is problem-free. Of the 28 total Anson copies evaluated by SGC, this pose survives as the lone copy at the grading level with only six better.
