Nineteenth Century Hall of Famer! Graded 60 EX 5 and confirmed as pose #210-2 in the 1887 N172 Old Judge edition. The fresh-faced "Sliding" Billy Hamilton takes aim at a suspended baseball as a member of the Kansas City Cowboys on this 128 year-old tobacco card. With strong corners, virtually untouched edges and decent centering, this remarkably clear rendition of the base caper presents on par with its technical appraisal. Of the 20 total copies assessed by the grading service, this particular sample survives as 1 of 3 at the tier with none better. Hamilton was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame by the Veteran's Committee in 1961.
