An incredibly rare survivor, this 1915 Fall Classic Game 4 ticket hails from a most unusual series. Maintaining its superiority over the upstart Federal League, Major League Baseball enticed fans with an exciting 1915 campaign that prompted Woodrow Wilson to become the first Chief Executive to take in a World Series game. And though Wilson showed his stuff with a ceremonial first pitch, 20-year-old rookie Babe Ruth did not, as he was relegated to a single pinch-hitting appearance. Still, Ruth was elated with his winner’s share check of $3780.25 (more than his salary), which he promptly took to Baltimore to purchase a saloon for his father on Lombard and Eutaw Streets. Encapsulated and Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA, this voucher is one of two at its tier with none graded higher. With RBI hits from Harry Hooper and Duffy Lewis, Boston defeated the Phillies by a 2-1 count for the third straight time in Game 4. Of note is that the Red Sox played their home games that series at the newly erected Braves Field to take advantage of the larger seating capacity.
