One of the finest multi-sport athletes at the turn of the century, David Fultz (d.1959) was an All-American in football and baseball, and he went on to play both sports professionally while also getting his law degree at Columbia. In the early 1910s, at a time when flush team owners were building palace-like stadiums, Fultz founded the Baseball Players" Fraternity—the third players" union in major-league history. (A groundswell of support came immediately after Ty Cobb"s controversial May 1912 suspension.) This trio includes: Extremely Rare Fraternity Pin - 1/2" diameter, red-and-gold enamel pin (EX-MT). 1915 Fraternity Yearbook - 3-1/4 x 5-3/4" booklet with Cobb, Fultz, Daubert, Zimmerman, Reulbach, Merkle etc. listed inside (EX, some notations and underlining). 8/9/43 Fultz TLS - 8-1/2 x 11" autograph-request response (VG-EX, "8" signature).
