In August of 1969 the fields of Max Yasgur"s farm hosted what remains Rock n Roll"s signature event. The Woodstock Music Festival drew enough fans to populate a large city. More than 400,000 hippies, stoners, peaceniks, revolutionaries and just plain old music fans made the pilgrimage to see a line-up that included electrifying acts such as The Who, CSNY, Santana, The Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, The Band, Ten Years After and the peerless Jimi Hendrix. Considered the defining moment of the counterculture generation, this long ago event is now the stuff of legend. Featured here is a 1969 Woodstock Music and Art Fair "Three Day Ticket" with a printed face value of $24.00, good for performances on the dates 8/15, 8/16 and 8/17. This complete and intact full ticket is graded (GEM MT 10) by leading certification service PSA. A check of PSA"s Population Report shows a total of "531" Three-Day $24.00 full tickets have been graded with 91 at the GEM MT 10 level, making the offered example a real find, firmly entrenched in the top 20% of all graded examples of this type. Hard to believe it"s been fifty years.
