A debonair John Montgomery (Monte) Ward is captured on the offered 1889 N172 Old Judge single. Graded 1.5 Fair by SGC and confirmed as pose #478-1. The principled Hall of Famer is picture perfect and displays only limited creasing near the upper left corner. A hint of residue barely affects the manufacturer"s nameplate on the lower right corner. Despite reverse writing, this nineteenth century artifact is still extremely attractive.
