Now ninety years old, the 1931 W517 baseball strip card series exists in far less than plentiful numbers. Even rarer are the original production photos of the cards, which presumably number just one for each player. Take your best swing at this W517 original production photo display, featuring Hall of Famer Earl Averill. Measuring 17x14 overall, this professionally mounted display is laid out with the production photo on the left in a visible area of 5 x 7-1/2", and a card #51 example on the right, in a 2-3/4 x 4" opening. While the card suffers a fairly unobtrusive 1/4" section of surface loss on the bottom edge, the photo and the frame present in excellent condition. Frames included with lots: while we make every effort to protect the frames included in these lots during pre-auction storage and post-auction shipping, we are not responsible for any damage to the frames themselves, and no refunds will be given due to frame damage.
