Little is known regarding William Gurnett of the 1888 Oakland Greenhood & Morans, but his cardboard existence is verified with the offered N321 S.F. Hess California League sample. As our national pastime raged in popularity during the late nineteenth century, numerous minor league organizations sprouted from coast to coast. Graded VG 3 by PSA. This lovely artifact portraying the West Coast ballplayer is properly centered with evenly worn corners and lush surface colors. The blank reverse displays mild soiling but is otherwise problem-free. Survives as 1 of 2 graded of the player in any condition!
