Graded EX 5 by PSA. Exceptional 1909 T204 Ramly Walter Johnson picturing the Washington Senators Hall of Famer just two years after being signed from Idaho State League. This oval black-and-white portrait of the Class of 1936 Hall of Famer is flanked by embossed bordering and an ornate floral design. As the undisputed key of the popular Boston-based designation, this early "Big Train" is considered by many hobbyists as Johnson's true rookie card. As of writing, only 37 total copies of this legend have been judged by PSA with 1 of 5 surviving at the grading level and only 9 better. A truly mesmerizing piece which showcases mostly accurate centering and only touches of wear on each corner, the brunt of which is found on the lower right point. The edges are otherwise unchipped and the vintage portrayal of the fireballer is crystal clear. Additionally, the Ramly advertising back is stain-free and amplified by bold advertising text. For those seeking a world class Walter Johnson from his playing days, look no further than this century-old headliner! Opening Bid $15,000.
